John McFarland of La Grande wasn't hampered by a soggy, cold day as he pruned a maple tree along Washington Avenue earlier this week. McFarland pruned three trees in front of a home on the corner of Washington Avenue and First Street within an
hour-and-a-half.

North West Tree Care is a third generation, professional, arborist company with over 73 years of combined experience in tree work, tree care & the logging industry. Tree work began with our family in La Grande, Oregon with Raymond McFarland back in 1946. Ray McFarland, as he preferred to go by, owned his own logging company called, "McFarland's Logging & Milling Co." He owned 6 mills, 4 were portable and 2 were stationary/permanent. Tree work continued with John McFarland the former owner of, "McFarland's Tree Trimming and Removals" from 1982-2012. John McFarland retired in December 2012 after 30 years of arborist work. The tree work tradition continues to this day with Jason McFarland the owner of, "Northwest Tree Care" which was established in 2001. NW Tree Care, short for, Northwest Tree Care is an established Tree Service based out of the Northwest, serving all the following areas: Yamhill county, Multnomah County, Polk County, Washington County, Marion County, Clackamas County, & the North Coast.
NW Tree Care offers services to homeowners, property management companies, contractors & business owners, and municipalities or local governments.
